My time back in Canada and the States seemed to fly by with so  much happening over those 3 months. Seeing all my family and friends, having a celebration of life service for Ross, grandchild #10 arriving and traveling by car some 20,000 plus km.  With the help of my sons I was able to take care of a lot of the legal work associated with a death leaving only a few loose ends to be completed by my son Spencer.  To say that I love and appreciate my boys would be an understatement.

My first day back in kindergarten was definitely a sweet reunion with the children.  Their excitement at my coming back and their love they lavished on me, eased the sorrow of leaving my family. These children surely know how to love and give of themselves.  The school year in Eswatini runs from January to the end of November meaning that kindergarten graduation is quickly approaching. Oh how these kids have grown and matured over this year. Teacher Shelly has done a marvelous job of imparting not only language and math skills to them but life skills as well. I’ve learned so much watching her interact with the class.  Thank you Shelly for allowing me a front row seat to their transformation.

Down at Lusito I was greeted royally by the staff and I too was happy to see them all again.  There has been a lot going on down there and I’m getting caught up on all their news and also their accomplishments. It was so exciting to hear that Menzie and Philile had both written and passed their level 3 apprenticeship exam.

The welders have been working hard building a “tire cage”.   Once the cage is completed it will be moved into place at our tire station. When tires are being inflated the tire will be placed inside the cage to provide a safer inflation process in the event that a bead doesn’t properly set causing the tire to blow off the rim and launch into the air. I’m sure many of you have seen videos online of what happens when the tire inflating doesn’t go as planned, and the outcome can be quite scary.  This will ensure the safety of our techs as well as anyone else who might be nearby as the cage will prevent the tire from becoming a missile.

The Oil Centrifuge machine has been  installed in our new oil room and is up and running.  By the end of day today the first 200 liter drum will be filled with purified oil ready to be used again.  Both Ross and Arlyn spent long hours investigating and educating themselves on this process in the hopes that it would help the company save money and wisely use the money that is donated.  Seeing it set up and working is the result of over a year of effort and work.  Thank you to both these men for their insight and desire to responsibly use the Lord’s money.

I have been back on site for just two weeks now and in that time we have had a funeral and a wedding take place.  Miriam was one of our oldest girls here (13) and was a loving older sister to all the children. She was a great example to them all and will be dearly missed. She took sick with Meningitis and passed away in the hospital.  Then last weekend the wedding of the Maxwell’s daughter Chloe happened on site. The kids were all so excited to watch and be a part of the celebration.  For both of these events I have been hosting people so the house has been somewhat full.

As I settle back into a routine here I pray the Lord will guide and direct me, that He continues to give me a sense of purpose and fulfilment at what I’m doing and that I don’t miss an opportunity to show His Love to others.  Every day is precious, not to be wasted but used up for His Glory taking every opportunity presented, boldly stepping forward and acting.
“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.”
